- Projects We Support Upasana, India Upasana is involved in many innovative women’s empowerment projects in South and North India. Upasana provides opportunities for village women to empower themselves and create sustainable livelihoods using design as a tool for social upliftment. Pathway to Potential has been supporting Upasana in the development and implementation of its projects as well as organizational and staff development. For more information on Upasana’s projects go to http://www.upasana.in/introduction-0 Auroville Village Action Group, India For twenty plus years, Auroville Village Action Group (AVAG) has been supporting the wellbeing and rights of village women in rural Tamil Nadu. Through social development, advocacy and awareness-raising AVAG has succeeded in bringing transformation to some 200 women’s groups comprising more than 2000 women. Pathway to Potential is now supporting AVAG to move into the social enterprise arena and reach out to more women in the Auroville bioregion through cooperative enterprise. For more information on AVAG go to http://avag.zzl.org/ The Branch Foundation, Thailand We’ve just started working with the Branch Foundation who are supporting Burmese refugees on the Thai border in their effort towards sustainable community development. We look forward to supporting the women in the Shan Refugee camp to develop their traditional hand-weaving unit and train more women to take up the skill of weaving. - ContactA message from the Founder: I have been blessed to work with some inspiring organisations and amazing women since I started Pathway to Potential in 2009. I have had a passion for women’s development and social justice ever since university and have spent many years searching for a way to contribute to women’s lives that would make a fundamental transformation and not just a short-term fix. Development has been so focused on ‘alleviating poverty’ that we often forget that people in developing countries are individuals with their own strength, beauty and potential that is just waiting to emerge given the right support and space.
