Upasana, India

Upasana is involved in many innovative women’s empowerment projects in South and North India. Upasana provides opportunities for village women to empower themselves and create sustainable livelihoods using design as a tool for social upliftment. Pathway to Potential has been supporting Upasana in the development and implementation of its projects as well as organizational and staff development.

Auroville Village Action Group, India


For twenty plus years, Auroville Village Action Group (AVAG) has been supporting the wellbeing and rights of village women in rural Tamil Nadu. Through social development, advocacy and awareness-raising AVAG has succeeded in bringing transformation to some 200 women’s groups comprising more than 2000 women.

Pathway to Potential is now supporting AVAG to start new enterprises owned by the women to continue their empowerment and upliftment.

Auroville Bamboo Centre, India

The Auroville Bamboo Research Centre, a non-profit organization, is committed to generating awareness of environmentally sustainable applications of bamboo through research and education.  Working as a social enterprise Auroville Bamboo Centre gives opportunities for local women to develop new skills in making bamboo products and become part of the ongoing growth of the unit.

Pathway to Potential is supporting Auroville Bamboo Centre to develop its product range and support more women to gain training and join the unit.

The Branch Foundation, Thailand


We’ve just started working with the Branch Foundation who are supporting Burmese refugees on the Thai border in their effort towards sustainable community development. We look forward to supporting the women in the Shan Refugee camp to develop economic independence for themselves and their community through their beautiful traditional hand-weaving skills.
